Welcome to the Capissisit Lodge

Along with our community's immense respect for traditional ways, we also embrace the benefits of modern living, and you can find these comforts in the charming Capissisit Lodge.

Consider your stay at the Capissisit lodge as a retreat from the hustle and bustle of urban living. Here you can count on enjoying quiet, restful nights. Auberge Capissisit Lodge situated on the shore of Lake Opemiska opened its doors in 1994 and provides 12 guest rooms with double beds and two suites that offer comfort at affordable prices. We also have one room with special facilities for visitors with physical disabilities.

While at the lodge you can eat in our main dining room open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our restaurant offers a wide range of dishes including both Canadian and traditional Cree cuisine and accommodates up to 60 guests.

Let the Capissisit Lodge be the place from where you launch – and then reminisce over – your unforgettable adventures in Oujé-Bougoumou.

Arts and Crafts The Cree of Eeyou Istchee, the Cree Traditional Territory, have been creating works of art and traditional crafts for centuries. The creation of these unique arts and crafts are an expression of the diversity, the long-held values and most importantly, the identity of our community and our region.
